Stonehenge
Stonehenge is a prehistoric monument located in Wiltshire, England, and is one of the most famous and iconic archaeological sites in the world. The monument was constructed over 4,500 years ago and consists of a ring of standing stones, some weighing up to 25 tons, arranged in a circular pattern.
The purpose of Stonehenge remains a mystery, but it is believed to have been a ceremonial or religious site, possibly related to the cycles of the sun and moon. Stonehenge is aligned with the summer solstice, and thousands of people gather at the site each year to witness the sunrise on the longest day of the year.
